couldn't have said it better

what does it say about our political system that our choices are "bigot funding genocides abroad and is for racism and systemic injustice at home" and "guy who does the same thing but isn't as outwardly rude about it"

you're really not going to accept that systematic racism (gentrification, the War on Drugs, racial profiling, job discrimination, etc.) exists unless there's like literally a law that says "you should be racist" in big colorful letters, are you?

I'm honestly in disbelief that people like you, who think that racism was completely solved in the 60s when King did the famous speech, still exist

it is 100% a dominance thing

fucking bunch of high schoolers these governments are

[–] sangle_of_flame@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

why do you think that the US in particular has the responsibility to directly get involved?

[–] sangle_of_flame@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

it's not that; it's that it's the US doing it for a country halfway across the world, as if we're actually going there to help instead of taking advantage of the situation because Russia's involved

if we do go there, it's not gonna be for aid

you might be surprised by how many people don't understand this tho

[–] sangle_of_flame@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

you're moving the goalposts

someone criticizing the US government isn't an attack on US citizens; like it's kind of weird how we identify so hard with the country itself such that the country being criticized feels like a fundamental personal attack

this is a weird take; aren't police literally the arbiters of said systemically racist policies and laws?

like isn't that their colloquial job definition?
