Presumably, you cheated because you had issues going on that you at the time felt that the other person could satisfy. You should probably make an effort to go to therapy to show that you are really working on yourself.

Unfortunately, I don't know that there's a way to make sure the system isn't exploited by an economically motivated government who can use this as on opportunity to get rid of people who have been failed by society.
In Canada for instance people who are poor, homeless, or have complicated medical issues are more likely to use assisted suicide with some reports of even being coerced into it.
