This effect was analysed in great detail by Marx in the 19th century, so it's not a characteristic of late stage capitalism, just of capitalism.

His term "Reserve army of labour" refers to the unemployed.

Taking them as a whole, the general movements of wages are exclusively regulated by the expansion and contraction of the industrial reserve army...

I guess I shouldn't be, but I'm shocked how little class awareness Beau has.

He kept talking about how "we" made a "mistake" that we need to fix. I don't know whether he doesn't engage at all with the fact that the damage was intentionally done by capitalists due to the profit motive or if he was toning it down to focus on the story.

Still a moving video and well worth a watch.

This is an incredibly bad take. They are a group of nomadic nations who have had their lands colonised by imperialist states.

And here you think indigineity has everything to do with skin colour?? Grow up.

I love the George Michael "I'm Mister Manager" vibes of the username 😁

The idea is that you should die and not further your genes if you do such idiotic things (that's the premise of the Darwin awards), this guy is very stubbornly not dying!

Again?! Is there some kind of reverse Darwin award for doing the most stupid shit and somehow not dying?

Only if it's specified and documented as part of a contract with the user. If they're relying on internal implementation details, well that's a good lesson for them not too do that.

Norway has a single HSR line, connecting Oslo airport with the city. Its basically just built so that politicians don't have to sit with the plebs, since it's much more expensive, but not much faster than the normal rail connection.

Other than that, rail has been getting slower in Norway over the last few decades.
