In a vacuum I'm not sure this is a huge problem. 3rd down and 4th-quarter comeback situations are when a quarterback "should" be most aggressive, which would of course lead to a higher risk of turnovers. That said, we're not really seeing the benefits of that aggression as much as we should be, so in that sense it's frustrating.
Ultimately, though, the seven games Fields has played so far are a small enough sample that I'm skeptical about slicing things further
Trust the process, he's already sabotaged Michigan so that Harbaugh would be available
Why does everyone love the phrase "The Problem" so much? It's killing me lol
He should get a full two years unless he's Josh Rosen/Zach Wilson bad, but I expect he'll get a lot of hate before that. We'll have both your eternal pessimists and people who are still hung up on Fields nitpicking his early performances.
I think basically the entire Bears fan base is united in thinking the coaching isn't good enough
We were always going to run but I wish we had let Fields run at least one of those two plays
Only one team out of 32 wins the Super Bowl every year, you could be twice as good as average at winning Super Bowls and still only win it every 16 seasons. Not really gonna hold it against him that he didn't win in four seasons
There are lots of reasons not to like Nagy. But after 2.5 years of watching Fields play exciting but very flawed football, I'm surprised there's anyone left who thinks it was stupid to take his development slowly
Need need need a touchdown here. Can't settle for less.
Resounding "meh" is my recollection, with some relief that it wasn't Quinn or Caldwell. I think people were more open to a defensive coach/older guy because they were so disgusted by Nagy, but there were definitely people who wanted Daboll or Bienemy.
