We can strike the first part of the question and the answer's probably the same. Almost no one.

Every image you say? Let's see Kirby try to eat Count Binface.

Count Binface with arms out and fists clenched.

There was plenty of it going on around here. Even after Napster was taken down, there was Kazaa, Limewire, and your choice of Gnutella client. It was mostly us downloading stuff to listen to on the bus because high speed internet was rare unless you were in a city.

There's also elevators with a Sabbath mode so on that day it stops at every floor because they're not allowed to press buttons on the Sabbath.

It said Maryland. I've never lived there nor have family there. My family is from two different states so maybe it's some sort of weighted average.

It was raised in late 2019 by burying it in the 2020 federal budget bill. Some states still don't enforce it though.

It appears to be banned in the US under 15 USC 7704(a)(3) because it's neither one click nor does it allow the user to open a menu to select the types of messages they want to receive: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/15/7704

Work forced me into keeping a smart phone. The key fob I was using for MFA died and they were no longer replacing them so I had to use the app.

It's worked out well so far for me without a data plan. My family is fine with call, text, or e-mail options for talking to me or sending me things like their football picks. The only time it sucks is when I lose power and have to resort to sparing use of mobile data to know when it's coming back on.

It's also filtered out a decent bit of text spam because the ones with pictures are MMS instead of SMS and the former requires mobile data.

They didn't want to get locked out of SWIFT which is controlled by the US. They would have been a crippling if not killing blow if that had happened.
