Aside from the local communities in your instance right now (and using the local timeline), you already have manually to subscribe to every community you want.
You already want to subscribe only to the communities you are interested in, or else you will get too many unwanted posts because the timeline is not cut to fit you like other social media services.
You can use Lemmy community browser to search for communities in all instances.

As pessoas mudam por duas razões: todos estão a mudar e então não querem ficar para trás (FOMO) ou percebem o que está em jogo e não concordam.
A familiaridade fala mais alto para aqueles que não percebem como as coisas funcionam.
A mudança também não é geralmente do dia para a noite, é uma coisa gradual, as pessoas vão ouvindo acerca da novidade até um dia todos estarem a falar da novidade ou a pessoa decidir que quer investir tempo a investigar a novidade e se gosta/vale a pena.
Vejo a mesma coisa a acontecer com o Mastodon, neste momento já muita gente conhece e por isso, mais gente vai aderindo, mas sempre gradualmente.

It is feasible, but not easily.
The problem would be when people engaged and then figured it was a bot posting and got no responses back.
Only posts where people feel compelled to comment would maybe work.
But I also see the appeal to get some content going and maybe facilitate the transition since the same things are being debated.
