playing advanced warfare at launch is legitimately in my top 10 best experiences i’ve had with multiplayer. SO MANY PEOPLE were trying to just play it like every other call of duty. but as more folks started experimenting with the new movement options, suddenly firefights would randomly turn into twitch-shooter gameplay with everyone bouncing all over the fucking place.

once metas started getting sorted it turned into that same sweaty slog that every other old multiplayer fps eventually becomes.

i’m blown away that the switch 2 is so beefy. nintendo has been the “lower spec consoles but AMAZING first party games” company for as long as i can remember.

this would’ve been 2013ish, and i THINK it had something to do with forcing it to run as either admin or another user.

i might be conflating this with memories of “jailbreaking” school computers, it all kinda blends together after enough concussions lmao

it for sure was like a decade ago. i have a specific formative memory of using a series of sock puppets to game my way into being the 1,000th unique player on a game i liked a lot.

also you can etch those lil white squares surprisingly easily with commercially available glass etching creams, my mom used to fuck around with em a lot in like the 90’s i think.
