Let’s skip the negative/horror stories and focus on the good, wholesome, and funny stuff for once

One time I was on the Green Line out of the loop to Forest Park (when I lived there), this homeless lookin dude steps between the cars into mine. It was rush hour so fairly packed. He starts preaching

“Let me tell you the story of how I found Jesus!”

“I had the life. I had it all! I had the women, the house, the cars. I made a million dollars!”

“Then I lost it all. I hit rock bottom. I didn’t know where to turn, I thought it might be the end.”

“And that’s how I found Jesus. He saved me. And he can save you too.”

Someone from the other end of the car goes

“Yeah that’s great but how did you make a million dollars?”

Whole car erupts laughing. Dude turns around and goes back to the other car

Walked out of a movie at the Alamo Draft House to this. Lots of people out partying after the Cubs game suddenly scrambling to get inside.

Spent 3 days in Chicago (real.lemmy.fan)

My family spent three days in your wonderful city. We did the touristy things, kept the hotel window open ("Chicago Fire, Med, and PD are all live right now!" I exclaimed to my wife as the 5th fire engine of the early, early morning sang its equally-weary song. She was not amused.)

The Shedd is still under construction, the Museum of Science and Industry is amazing, the Bean/Cloud Gateway is shiny, and Rossi's is my new favorite dive bar.

Thank you, Chicago, for the trains and the easy walking. Uber drivers - you guys and gals and non-gendered folks are simply the best at getting through a congested city while showing almost no stress. You are machines. My love and all the custom $10 tips.
