Two teenagers charged with murder after the deaths of Dau Akueng and Chol Achiek refused to board the prison van to attend court.

Prosecutors had intended to make an application for compulsory DNA samples from the boys, which required them to be in the courtroom.

i am considering getting a full fare myki while eligible for concession as i heard the ticket inspectors target concession mykis hard, and you may need to go through hassle to get certain ID to use a concession myki. which doesn't seem worth the discount

But if you are obviously eligible for some kind of concession (student, senior, child, whatever) is using the full fare myki fineable? and would authorised officers try to target you for this? i couldn't find any information about this

has anyone actually done this?

Remember the clocks go forward 1 hour at 2am on Sunday (Saturday night).

The hour will not be lost completely, it is being given as a no-interest loan to the Gods of Time, to be returned to us on 5th April next year.

Edit: Corrected my grammatical error, because https://aussie.zone/u/dan@upvote.au is right, even if I don't want to admit it. It is Daylight Saving, not Savings.

In short:

The vast majority of compensation claims for hazards on Victorian roads are being rejected, new data shows.

In 2023 and 2024, 1709 notices were lodged but only 23 resulted in a settlement offer and more than two thirds of hazards were described as pavement or surface defects.

What's next?

The Victorian government has allocated $976 million to road maintenance for 2025/26, with the majority of funding to be spent in regional areas.

"The 2025 Melbourne Fringe Festival is a celebration of Action Heroes. We're not talking about the kind of hero who wears a cape, and undies on the outside (though hey, you do you). We mean the kind of hero who understands that change comes from individual action – connecting, building, showing up. This isn’t a festival that tells you what to think. It’s one that invites you to feel, imagine, and most importantly, take action. So grab your metaphorical cape (or literal one – again, you do you!) and join us for the 2025 Melbourne Fringe Festival. See something. Do something. Change something. Fringe is ready when you are. "

Yarrabyte has clearly celebrated a little too hard again. Must order some more beroccas, they'll need them and I've run out of the hair of the dog.
