Share your setup!

Good afternoon everyone, i thought it would be fun to share each other's setups, perhaps learn something from each other.

As my moto goes, "Sharing is caring" ill start first :)

My main Network(xaetacore.net) consists out of the following

Hardware:

  • DS1821 (This is my primary storage)
  • 4 x ST14000NM001G (Seagate 14TB Exos Sata HDD)
  • Configured with Raid 5+1 1 drive failure tollerance
  • Total capacity 50TB
  • DS916+ (Backup storage)
    • 4 x ST18000NM000J (Seagate 18TB Exos Sata HDD)
    • Configured with Raid 5+1 1 drive failure tollerance
    • Total capacity 50TB
  • ^ Both Nas have their second NIC peer 2 peer for backup storage
  • hv01.local.xaetacore.net (Custom built server)
  • 2 x Intel Xeon E5520 (16) @ 2.261GHz
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (For transcoding)
  • 64GB RAM
  • 8 TB SSD Storage

Software

  • I run proxmox on my hypervisor(hv01) On there i have the following vm's:

    • Plex media server
    • Dns server
    • Loadbalancer
    • Docker server
    • Terraform and Vault servers
    • Bastion server
  • Piracy stack on Docker server managed via terraform:

    • Sonarr
    • Radarr
    • Soularr
    • Slskd
    • Lidarr
    • Flaresolverr
    • Bazarr
    • Transmission
    • Jackett
    • Bitmagnet
    • Funkwhale

Everything is fully automated, even the reloading of the Funkwhale libraries, The docker server gets his storage from the SAN(Consisting of 2 Nas).

So what do you guys use? :)

Good afternoon fellow swashbuckelers! o? Currently my automated piracy setup is as followed:

  • Jackett for indexing
  • Bitmagnet(Indexed over 10 million torrents over DHT) DHT Crawling
  • Sonarr/Bazarr/Lidarr/Radarr: Tracking and media collection
  • Transmission: download client/server
  • Plex mediaserver: Hosting the content
  • Funkwhale: for music.

Now i face the following problem, Torrents are great for most of the media but for music its harder.

What would be the best approach for pirating music? A different protocol perhaps?

I'm curious as to how you guys solve this issue :)

Update:

Just set up slskd with Soularr, hooked it up to my lidarr and SAN and now its fully automated, and my Funkwhale music.xaetacore.net can pull right from my SAN! :D

Thank you all for helping me out in my DM's <3

Nursing student here, nearing the end of the program (WOOOOOO!). Most of my textbooks are digital, cuz those were cheaper than the physical versions, but when I log into my 'eLibrary' now, there's a little notification flag that pops up saying access to it ends soon (a month or so after I graduate).

Um... what the fuck?! I'm still going to need access to that material through my nursing career or if I decide to go for a higher degree type.

Most of my textbooks are published by Elsevier, and hosted in an 'eLibrary' at https://pageburstls.elsevier.com/ - once the book it open, it's obnoxiously locked down: copying via ctrl+C does nothing, printing a page or print-to-PDF results in just the sidebar text and page header, but the actual 'book' is blank; and trying to save a copy with the Firefox extension "Single File" also results in a blank page. There is a copy feature built in, where you highlight text and a little window pops up with "Copy" and a few other options, but doing this fails to capture images, and makes an absolute mess of tables, which both make up a lot of the material. And I'm sure my usage of the 'copy' feature is logged, so if I did that to an entire textbook I'd probably get my account flagged or disabled.

I'm probably the least tech-savvy person on Lemmy, so I definitely don't trust myself to torrent this shit without attracting a small army of lawers hell-bent on ruining my life... but I do at least want to keep the material I fucking paid for. I know there are places like LibGen, so textbook piracy is very much a thing: whatever tools are used at the start of that process to rip content hosted on a webpage and get it converted to a PDF or word doc or something sound like the things I should be using.

We have a summer break coming up soon, and backing all my shit up might be my summer project... what tools should I use to accomplish this?

Greece continued to expand anti-piracy efforts in 2024, issuing a record-breaking number of blocking decisions. Most blockades target live sports streams offered by illegal IPTV subscription services. To increase the deterrent effect, a new legislative amendment makes it possible to fine subscribers of these services up to 750 euros. However, this may prove challenging.

At least on paper, Real-Debrid's November 2024 announcement detailing new anti-piracy measures, suggested a tough time ahead for the popular platform. Under pressure from dozens of powerful rightsholders, Real-Debrid's position looked precarious to put it mildly; not precarious enough for the service to throw in the towel, however. Three months later, a 16% drop in traffic is painful but non-fatal.

It's been a long time since I have sailed the seas, so I was hoping someone could point me to a tracker that maybe specializes in books. Preferably one that isn't terribly difficult to join / maintain a decent ratio on.

First, child services has been called on multiple occasions and has done nothing. The police don't care either. They're disabled so they can't just leave.

They have a laptop that they can use whenever they want but their patent is extremely opposed to piracy and won't pay for my friend to buy movies or a streaming service. They watch DVDs from the library on their laptop.

They're also not tech savvy so I need a plug and play solution that will allow them to pirate media without anyone else in the household being aware of it.

I've been using torrent quest, which recently went down. I really liked the no bs interface. Rarbag and all those others just don't stack up. Any recommendations would be great

Four more large Internet service providers told the US Supreme Court this week that ISPs shouldn't be forced to aggressively police copyright infringement on broadband networks.

While the ISPs worry about financial liability from lawsuits filed by major record labels and other copyright holders, they also argue that mass terminations of Internet users accused of piracy "would harm innocent people by depriving households, schools, hospitals, and businesses of Internet access." The legal question presented by the case "is exceptionally important to the future of the Internet," they wrote in a brief filed with the Supreme Court on Monday.

I used to do this. A lot. But the last time was most of if not a decade ago. I'm very far out of the game and need a refresher on who and what people are using now. I think I used mobilism back then. Maybe.

In the past, I've relied on whatever stream I happen to be able to find through whatever sketchy site and it's really frustrating.

Are there any legit, reliable ways to catch NFL games as they're happening (ideally that don't require a cable subscription/tuner card)?

Is that (still) a thing? How safe is it to rip Blu-rays for seeding?

Edit: clarification. I mean the invisible kind of watermark used as a unique identifier of the disc and associated file.

I've searched for an answer for a few hours now and every site I've come across is just a copy of the last one, covering only downloading in most cases.

What are the best practices for uploading and seeding (legal) original content to stay as anonymous as possible?

I'm using:

  • Linux
  • A Paid VPN
  • A Private tracker
  • An anonymous email with said tracker
  • qBittorrent

I need some help for automatization

I need to be inside an app, activate the action, so it takes a screenshot, then scrolls, and then again the screenshot and so on.

I can do it manually, but it is too much content I need to back up.

I don't mind if I have to purchase an app.

Thank you for your help.
