Jon Heyman is reporting that the Jays signed Dylan Cease to a seven-year, $210 million contract. At least he spells his first name right. Cease will be 30 at the end of December.

He averaged 97 mph on his fastball last year. He had an off-season last, 4.55 ERA but the year before he had a 3.47 ERA. He was number 3 on Ben’s list and number 9 on Keith Law’s list. He’s made 32 or 33 starts for five straight years.

Per Jeff Passan, the deal is pending a physical for Cease.

Sportsnet: Shane Bieber opts in with Blue Jays for 2026

Everyone and their dog seemed to believe he was going to be gone, testing free agency, if he had anything even close to an OK fall.

I wonder if this means he's been told something about to cohesiveness of the team in the face of all of the free agents right now.

It wasn't how any of us wanted the series to end, and the fact that they were literally millimetres from walking it off was tough to stomach, but damn was it a good series. Damn, did the Jays play some good baseball this year. And while I may be snacking on grapes that are a little under-ripe, I know that they should have won that series.

People can point to the mistakes the Jays made -- and they made plenty -- but we can just as easily point to key bad ball/strike calls that significantly changed the outcome of the series (while also acknowledging that we got some almost shocking calls in our favour, too), or to the absolutely wild bad luck we had with broken bats, lodged balls, and BABIP.

They lost the series by millimetres at least 6 times by my count.

That's wild. And it resulted in some of the best games I've ever watched.

Here's to next year. We're just 3 months from the start of Spring Training!

The expected starters are Max Scherzer and Shohei Ohtani

The Blue Jays are 3-2, needing just one more win to win it all.

Gausman against Yamamoto.

What's your pick, Jays in 6 or Jays in 7?

Game 5. It's now a best-of-3 series, with 2 of those games to be played in Toronto. Tonight is the rematch of Trey Yesavage against Blake Snell.

Last night was a long game (18 innings!) and a tough loss. The Jays, behind Shane Bieber, will take on Shohei Ohtani (starting pitcher) and the Los Angeles Dodgers again today. The Dodgers currently lead in the series 2-1.

The series is tied 1-1. Max Scherzer versus Tyler Glasnow on the bump today.

Jays up 1-0 in the series. Gausman versus Yamamoto tonight. Let's take this to LA up 2-0! 😝

Game 7. Who will punch their ticket to the World Series tonight? George Kirby is on the mound versus Shane Bieber. Go Jays go!!!

Seattle's up 3-2 in the series. Toronto must win both of the next 2 games to advance, while Seattle only needs to win one. Tonight's pitching matchup is Yesavage vs. Gilbert. Let's hope George is back after taking that pitch off the knee last game! Go Jays Go!

The comeback kids do it again to tie up the series 2-2. It's now a best of 3. One more night in Seattle. Will the Blue Birds make it 3 wins in a row? It'll be another Kevin Gausman versus Bryce Miller match up

Last night was fun. Mad Max on the bump for the Jays in Game 4 tonight. Can the Blue Birds even up the series?

Yesterday's game was a disappointment. Let's win game 2. LFG, Blue Jays!!!

Canada's Blue Jays need just 8 more wins to win it all and become MLB 'World Series' Champions!!!

They kick off a series against the Seattle Mariners today. And following a win in that series would face either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Milwaukee Brewers next.

Bo's not on the ALCS roster, but Scherzer and Bassitt are, replacing Bruihl and Nance:

Well, the Blue Jays didn't sweep last night. It was a pretty disappointing game all around other than the 6 runs scored: many fielding misplays, Shane didn't have it and couldn't put guys away up 6-1 in the 3rd, and our bullpen got hit hard too.

Jays enter tonight's game up 2-1 in the series. They need 1 more win to advance, while the Yankees need two wins to advance.

How are you feeling? What's your prediction on the series at this point? How do you think the Jays will deploy their pitching? Will we see either Gausman or Yesavage tonight on reduced rest?

Canada's Blue Jays arrive to the Bronx up 2-0 in this best-of-5, needing to win just one more game to win the series.

Today, the Jay's Shane Bieber takes on the Yanks' Carlos RodΓ³n - pretty even pitching match between two solid pitchers. It's never easy to sweep a postseason series, but it'd be great if the Jays could. Because, game 4 will see a pitching advantage for the Yanks (Schlittler versus a Jays bullpen day), and then if it goes to game 5 the Jays will have no series lead (although they'll have home field advantage)

Let's go Blue Jays!!!

The Blue Jays won yesterday's game 1 of the 5-game series, 10-1! It was a statement win, but we had our best starter going against the Yankees 4th best. Things will be different today, as we face the Yankees' best starter, while Yesavage pitches for us, who's been awesome but who started the season playing low A ball.

Yankees would love to split the pair of games in Toronto. Jays would like to take the series back to the Bronx 2-0 Blue Jays. Go Blue Jays!!!
