Just finished the 1st season of Sherlock. It's been loads of fun! I just can't watch it drunk or high lol I get lost when Sherlock speaks a million miles per hour

Hmm I haven't heard of Jonathan Creek, I'll have to check that out after! Maybe I'll miss Sherlock and want to watch something that scratches that same itch

its definitely a little less polished than sherlock, but i love the 'reluctant genius solves impossible crime' trope

Slow Horses scratched that itch for me somewhat. One of the better shows I've seen in a while.

I've been watching Jonathan Creek too - the first series was kind of annoying in that the female sidekick was portrayed as constantly eating, just shovelling food in, presumably to indicate she was "fat". Second series the sidekick is a petite blonde, so no annoying chomping.

The plots are a bit repetitive - locked room mystery, mild peril to our heroes, Jonathan gets "that look" on finding a seemingly random connection/clue and bingo, solves the whole thing. But enjoyable enough.
