I read the books over a decade ago, and recently I have been re-watching scenes from the movies. The books had plenty of material to work with and, with the right creative team, the show could escape the YA-esque nature of the films. Andor proved that it is possible.

Characters like Cinna for example.

Despite Cinna's death, his designs remained crucial to the rebellion. Likely knowing his death was unavoidable with the incoming war, Cinna had already designed her mockingjay uniform, secretly designing it in the few weeks before the start of the 75th Hunger Games and gave it to Plutarch Heavensbee. The Mockingjay uniform was concealed as Katniss's wedding dress requested by President Snow, which transformed after becoming ignited when Katniss began twirling on stage.

Season 1 could run alongside Catching Fire, and culminate with the rescue at the arena. Future seasons can cover the rebellion itself.

Documentary footage of actual machines in action doing their day-to-day work is presented with voiceovers of the machines addressing the viewers. The audience is invited to follow the machines during a typical day. The machines explain their abilities and duties in detail over the course of the episode. The machines talk to each other too. Each machine is given its own personality and they often have conversations with each other as they work. Unlike most documentary-style shows, there is no external narrator.
