I had a bit of a brainwave. The pet ramps and steps from Kmart aren’t great and the op shop didn’t have much destroyable that suited…

But Big W has a $180-ish recliner. It will be low quality and small and will get scratched up from brand new, but the leg support part could be walked up like a ramp. It’s something the old baby could easily get up and down from without jumping and hurting herself. I would pay that much for a cat tree if she could comfortably use it.

We’ll see. I’ll decide if there’s room and maybe sell the unwanted dishwasher and tv. Maybe I could sew some heavy duty fabric reinforcement over the sides to absorb the claws wrath.

If you have a TK Maxx nearby they seem to have pretty solid-looking pet steps quite cheaply.

They look good! I just thought a ramp would be easier
