saladas with a thin smear of vegemite, and weak black tea is very good at settling a grumbly tummy.

Not good, maybe something simple like some soup might help, at least try and keep your fluids up.

Been there. Can you make some clear broth from cube and have it with a few crackers?

Half strength ensure made with hot water and a splash of milk for cooling is a good warm drink to slowly sip.
