Ok, what's everyone's guess on the verdict of the mushroom trial?

Mine is: Not Guilty

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not guilty would mean she'll be in the media for years to come.

Hoping for guilty in that case.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not guilty means she didn't intend on deliberate deaths.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Having not followed the trial, would not guilty mean she's released?

Still hoping for guilty. I've formed my opinion and it was deliberate.

I think she’s guilty, but she’ll get away with it because reasonable doubt.

It does in court.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, a not guilty verdict.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago

I'm predicting a hung jury.

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Not guilty. I do think she did it but the evidence / case against her isn’t strong enough.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, I reckon this as well. There's enough room for doubt. But the astounding amount of lies and possible lies is just mental. I have so many questions!

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think she wanted to make them ill but not kill. There's no evidence to say she intended on killing.

r/DeathCapDinner are gonna lose their shit if it doesn't come back guilty. 🍿

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I will absolutely cook up some popcorn before venturing on that sub if it comes back not guilty.

πŸ˜‚

They think she's some sort of sociopathic mastermind imbecile and really she's a housewife who made a major boo boo and tried to back peddle her way out of trouble. It's not really that deep.

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago

Hung jury. All 12 jurors have to agree and come to a unanimous verdict for not guilty or for guilty. So I think it likely that there'll be a hung jury and a re-trial at some later date. Which will be even more of a shit show.

Such a pity the Scottish law verdict of 'not proven' is not available here in Victoria. Which basically means We know you done it but there's no evidence.

I do think the r/deathcapdinner mob (and I chose that word deliberately) need to be reminded of the basic human right of being innocent until proven guilty.

Hoping for guilty, realistically think there's a good chance of not guilty. I haven't followed it in detail but it just seems like there's enough room for doubt...

Either way, Erin Patterson is never going to live a normal life ever again after this

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I too think she's guilty, or a little bit guilty. She'll get off because of something something imo.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is it too late for Vera to step in?

Now we're getting somewhere

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago

Guilty I think.
