FUCKING DONE. 12 FUCKING HOURS IN OFFICE, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

I am not getting less than 4 hours of Simon time tonight. I refuse to go home and just crash. Fuck that.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 11 points 1 day ago

The Seagoon has landed.

It's like a jump in Sliders, it looks the same in nearly everyway , just has these little differences.

I failed :(

Goodnight all ❀️

1 more day then back to normal.

3 hours. Now that the stores are closed, they'll attempt their IT requirements.

Here comes the tsunami

Edit: I feel awful because the strays will be fed 3 hours late but there's nothing I can do :(

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

You can do it! Not long to go now!

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The pizza is in the oven. The smell is divine.

Nice. I found a couple of forgotten Aldi gratin in the freezer. 😊

Just dropped a coffee mug whilst doing the dishes. It smashed on the tiles. Was one of the ones I liked. Boo-hoo.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fuck. Did you stare at it until you realised you can't put Humpty back together again?

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago

Yes, accompanied by a vague moan.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Damn stabbing bra wire!

Thought I'd found somebody's missing cat today, but sadly not.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm now curious how the whole cat thing went down. Did you kidnap a random cat and now don't know who it belongs to? Did you have a delusional moment where you thought you found a cat but it turned out to be a pair of balled up socks in reality?

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago

😹 there was a random cat in my yard yesterday annoying my boys through the window.I took pics. This morning somebody put up a lost post that looked the same, but after extra detailed pattern analysis of the two it was not the right cat. Sadness.

So close now.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

good night everyone, 😘😘😘

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (3 children)

My hair has grown to that annoying length where it pokes me in the eyes. Too short to tie it all back without still having a mop at the front, and clipping it back... I need more clips than I possess due to it's wavy chaotic nature.

But I don't want to cut it, I want to grow it out longer, so here I am whinging lol

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago

Fringe whinge is real. There's nothing to do at this stage but tough it out, you can do it!

[–] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Been there. No fun. I haaate having hair falling in my face or into my ears or bunching up at the back of my neck. Also have wavy hair that's a pain to control. I found in Kmart a circular hair control device - its a circle of zigzag plastic an inch or so wide and a bit stretchy, big enough to go around one's whole head. I think its intended to hold back one's hair with an Alice band over the top of it. Put it on around the neck, then slide it up and it holds hair back from the forehead and up off the neck. Front of hair is held sleek and smooth, then the rest of one's hair runs riot behind it. Fairly comfy to wear, and you can put a bike helmet or hat over it if need be. Game changer for growing out hair past the annoying stage. And you can cover it with a ribbon or similar if you don't like the look of it.

the priceline version

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 1 points 22 hours ago

I didn't know you could still get these!

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I haven't heard "Alice band" for years; that just brought back a rush of emotions! It's what I grew up calling it. Inherited from my mum's generation and the slightly older-fashioned English she learnt in a heavily colonial system.

Comes from the Tenniel illustrations to Alice in Wonderland. Iconic.

7.5 hours to go.

Kill me now. Why can't I be a spoilt housecat instead of the slave of one :(

5 hours to go. Urghhhh Apparently I'm going to have a PT issue in the morning that will lead to me sleeping in an extra hour!

How fortuitous!

Ok, what's everyone's guess on the verdict of the mushroom trial?

Mine is: Not Guilty

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not guilty would mean she'll be in the media for years to come.

Hoping for guilty in that case.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Not guilty means she didn't intend on deliberate deaths.

I think she’s guilty, but she’ll get away with it because reasonable doubt.

Hung jury. All 12 jurors have to agree and come to a unanimous verdict for not guilty or for guilty. So I think it likely that there'll be a hung jury and a re-trial at some later date. Which will be even more of a shit show.

Such a pity the Scottish law verdict of 'not proven' is not available here in Victoria. Which basically means We know you done it but there's no evidence.

I do think the r/deathcapdinner mob (and I chose that word deliberately) need to be reminded of the basic human right of being innocent until proven guilty.

abc article on the state of play rn

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 8 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Not guilty. I do think she did it but the evidence / case against her isn’t strong enough.

I'm predicting a hung jury.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I too think she's guilty, or a little bit guilty. She'll get off because of something something imo.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is it too late for Vera to step in?

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Now we're getting somewhere

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago

Hoping for guilty, realistically think there's a good chance of not guilty. I haven't followed it in detail but it just seems like there's enough room for doubt...

Either way, Erin Patterson is never going to live a normal life ever again after this

People say that the weather is boring small talk. However, since many kids believe things like rain is teardrop shaped, or heavier things sink and lighter things float, I've been reading quite a bit of physics and earth science stuff, and it's so cool and weird how we have clouds and rain and other weather phenomenona. How does lightning happen? Thunder? Natural disasters?

It's so weird that we exist on a land with these things, and I am dying to learn more. I wish I had studied this stuff earlier. But I guess it's not too late. Excitement ensues.

I love learning when it's for fun and not for grades.

Lots of youtube stuff - I recommend Ozgeology for a local slant on this stuff. Melbourne based too. At least until he 'discovered' a river of gold underneath Melbourne. But seriously, this channel fits with everything I've learned so far about this town and continent.

All this stuff used to be called geography - but they don't teach that anymore as it was considered boring and irrelevant back in the 1990s. I have NEVER agreed with that verdict. Where we are on this planet and how everything works is something I been fascinated by since early youf. It's basic to understanding where we are and what is likely to happen in the future.

I have BBQ chicken pizza planned for dinner tonight and I'm really looking forward to it. What does everyone else have on the dinner menu?

I've had the Postman Pat theme tune banging around in my head all afternoon. He seems quite content. A nice cat, a cruisy stable job, friendly people. I envy him

Indeed, he's a really happy man. And now it's in my head too.
