Boycott US
Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

The American people also have that power, but they're too complacent (or lazy) to bother using it.
Yep. They're going to need to become uncomfortable first. Really uncomfortable. But...
If we've learned anything from Russian politics in the last few years, it's that a population can be placated even if when uncomfortable, if they're convinced that their cause is just.
North Korea shows the people can be starving and still unable to overthrow the government.
North Korea is a military fort not a real country.
Unfortunately a good 40% of the country are so brainwashed by propaganda that they think that what Trump is doing is good. Someone is going to start the second civil war, but nobody is eager to fire the first shots.
The biggest issue for people who are willing to use violence for political means is not knowing whether their actions would be supported by others. One of the things that the right has done better than the left is organization. Progressives don't have natural communities like a church.
It's why I keep stressing to people who want to resist to volunteer and get involved locally. Volunteer at a food bank. Get involved with the local immigration assistance group. Do something to get yourself known to those in vulnerable communities because that is where you'll find people who are supportive and where you'll find people who might even feel the same way as you.
It would be simple if it was just those two things that restricted opposition. Let me just throw in another factor that makes American politics a complex issue, and that's the size of the country. Also...what power do you think the average American actually has? Honestly curious.
It's funny how people would talk shit about how right-wingers with rifles can't stop the military, but now armed folks on the left are suddenly supposed to?
