I wasn't aware, but turns out you're spot on: https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/chicago-politics/gerrymandering-debate-rages-in-illinois-as-texas-lawmakers-remain-in-state/3807960/ & https://www.politico.com/news/2025/08/10/democrats-pritzker-republicans-redistricting-gerrymandering-00501739. There's a distinction about cheating mid-decade on census data though - I agree with that. I'm not a fan of gerrymandering in general, but I'd like to fight fire with fire instead of just get steamrolled, too...
