Oh its more than one stupid person. American diversion from reality has been in the making for over a decade.
Actually even longer. Fox News was thought up after Nixon's resignation with the expressed intent of making sure that a conservative politician would never have to face consequences like that again.

Yeah up until 2016 we were just minding our own business invading other countries for oil.
And the genius of it was that no one (other than the invaded countries) really cared because the US accumulated so much soft power, goodwill and general positive impression. Trump undid in a few months what took generations to build.
Not only did they not care, they joined us. These fucking morons have no understanding of soft power.
Well I mean, we paid them a lot so that it looked like we weren't just randomly invading Iraq for reasons no one but Cheney seemed able to concieve of.

I’d like to think Americas reputation has been down the pan for decades. They’re warmongering, other country meddling, global terrorists at best.
The people can be alright, but the government are no better than the people they tell us to hate.
