Real answer? CEOs think AI is the future and don't dare risk missing out. If you've ever led so much as a small team, or been in an IT customer-facing role (internal or external), you know people are highly resistant to changing their workflow. Push back is expected. You almost always you have to force a change unless you're solving a complaint.

Some are also the, "I'm always right!", sorts. For those, it takes an overwhelming amount of evidence of failure to back them off. Or a board of directors who got serious questions.

Contrary to lemmy's notion that all CEOs are stupid and worthless, the vast majority are not. They're simply acting as they know they have to in order to bring change. Turns out, the pivot to AI is stupid (in most cases) and now they're getting the data and feedback to see that.

Productivity news on the AI front has been just short of abysmal. We'll see loads of these stories soon, and as those stories keep hitting, I'm expecting a monster AI backlash. LOL, not even joking when I say it'll be Butlerian Jihad-lite. In a few years most companies will utterly reject AI.

Wrong. The real answer is defrauding investors.
