Read the article. They were friends and co-workers, no robbery. The cops showed up, screamed about a knife and started blasting.
No knife was found.
So this is still clearly the cops fault. They literally shot the home owner while he was defending himself in his own home, they simply shot him because he was the one winning. Not even trying de-escalation or to even understand what's happening.
That being said, it wasn't just buddies hanging out. It kind of feels like you replied to misinformation with more misinformation.
So, read the article and ignored the headline. Still a clusterfuck and the cops just made things worse by showing up.
They usually do
Yes, I've run across a few instances that were much worse than I could imagine, always escalated from something that could have been a discussion, warning, or ticket. But someone dies, and all the police that show up side with the actual murderer.
