Per the article, one was from North Carolina. I’m also not sure why their location is more relevant than the fact they’re passing legislation that will kill trans kids.
Also, back up, the Advocate is Republican funded propaganda?? lmao
The location is relevant because the only way democrats can win elections in red states is to compromise.
If they don’t compromise at all then the conservative gets elected and it’s full trans genocide.
Defending the “both sides” argument is disingenuous.
You have invented a both sides narrative that isn’t in an article published by a gay magazine that has existed since before the Stonewall riots. Ask yourself why criticism of Democrats from queer people is unacceptable.
Meanwhile, in the article:
He sure is compromising for something, alright. But I guess we should be grateful, because if it wasn’t a Democrat voting for letting trans kids die then it would be a Republican making the exact same vote! 🙄
Democrats in red states like California and Connecticut have no choice but to refuse to stand up for trans rights if they want to stay electable!
Oh boy, is this the new “if you don’t vote for every Democrat then Republicans will take away abortion!” fundraising and silencing tactic for any criticism of the party?
Anyone who voted for this can kiss my fucking ass and go to hell, and anyone that defends them can too. I don’t give a fuck what excuse they had, anyone that voted for this voted to kill trans kids. I won’t throw trans kids on the pyre in the name of preventing “full” trans genocide (wtf is killing kids, then?!), and there isn’t a combination of words that’s going to make me think that’s okay.
Not a single word in your comments have been devoted to the kids at risk here. Pure politics.
There is no way you can’t tell the difference between the Democratic Party and a few democrats voting against the Democratic Party. You are being disingenuous.
You are either pushing the oldest republican talking point as a shill or you have been tricked by a shill into voting against trans rights.
The Democratic Party voted to stop this bill. A few voted against the Democratic Party. You try to turn the blame onto the Democratic Party. It’s blatant bad faith argument.
You mean like how literally every instance of ‘Democrat(s)’ in my previous comment was about individuals and not the party? Can you at least pretend to read what you’re responding to?
You have literally no idea who I have ever voted for in my life and you’re already comfortable declaring that I’m voting for an anti trans agenda… because I said I won’t vote for someone who voted against trans rights. These mental gymnastics don’t exhaust you?
I’m a former trans youth who tried to kill myself in part because I had no gender affirming anything. I did not ask for and do not need your advice on how to vote for candidates that will fight for my rights.
You are trying to have an argument against something nobody here is saying, the entire time completely ignoring that this is a conversation about trans kids. If you have any feelings on the subject beyond “democrat good” nobody here would be able to tell, because all you’ve cared about here is the politics. If you don’t get why that’s fucking gross go take a walk until you do.
Then use the individuals name and stop blaming the party that voted against this.
Republicans love to cherry pick examples of a trans person doing something then blame the entire trans community. Just like you’re doing with democrats now.
You’re not campaigning against the individuals that voted with the republicans. You’re campaigning against the Democratic Party that voted to stop this. Which is the same as supporting republicans.
I am too. The reason we didn’t get that gender affirming care is too many republicans won. And now you are here blaming democrats for the actions of republicans. You are campaigning against gender affirming care.
Politics is what is preventing gender affirming care. If you don’t care about politics, you don’t care about gender affirming care. If you don’t get why that’s gross go take a walk until you do.
If I meant the Democratic Party that’s what I would have said. I literally included the names of the specific Democrats I was talking about in that comment, but now your problem is that I didn’t include individual names (when I did)?
If you’re unsure about what a comment means you can always ask instead of leaping to the worst faith interpretation possible. I even made my statement as specific as possible by saying I won’t vote for people who vote against trans rights and somehow that’s a criticism of the entire Democratic Party as well? It doesn’t seem like there’s a way to criticize any Democrats without you deciding it’s actually both sidesing.
I am blaming the fucking Democrats that voted for it because they’re responsible for their own actions! Do you need me to list their names out again, or does your scroll wheel work?
Good luck with kissing the boot of every Democrat that takes a dump on you.
And there it is, the both sides argument fully vindicated.
Do yall ever actually listen to yourselves? This shit is embarrassing to read.
That is how democracy works. Voters get to decide. If the majority of voters are anti trans in a red state guess who gets elected in a red state?
If there were more pro trans voters then shit like this wouldn’t happen. But too many get tricked into being apathetic from this republican talking point “both sides are the same” that you are defending.
If Democrats win elections in Texas by compromising how come their compromising losing asses have been getting beat for 30 plus years?
Are you referring to the fact that democrats have won the majority of elections nation wide since the 90s? Texas doesn’t vote the same as the national average. Pretty simple.
My you sure are jumping around a lot. A second ago it was Democrats in Texas have to act different to win, which they don't do, and now we're switching back to National. That's weird. Why'd you bring up Democrats in Texas at all if you're going to be talking about National stuff?
This article is about democrats from Texas voting against the Democratic Party. It’s pretty straight forward. I can’t understand it for you.
Okay so then why did you change the subject to National Democrats when I asked you about Texas Democrats? Since we both agree it's about Texas Democrats you want to stay on topic?
I asked you what you were referring to. That isn’t changing the subject. How is your reading comprehension so bad? It is no wonder you are having such a hard time wrapping your head around a simple concept.
Where in that comment precisely did you think I was referring to national elections?
I didn’t make any assumptions of what you were referring to. I asked what you were referring to.
Again, how is your reading comprehension so bad?
Yes the part after that is where you made the assumption. A wild assumption that had nothing to do with any comment made before it. For which there was no basis in fact, logic, or reason. Now that we've successfully completed that wild train ride maybe you want to Circle back around to the question I asked? The one you've been avoiding for like six comments now?
The part after that was literally the question. You are pretending to not understand the answer so that you can continue to reject reality.
You're just speaking in nonsense circles now. You never had an answer to the question because obviously your initial statement was absurdly incorrect.
So you can’t identify questions or answers… got it
