The only speech the socdems (who are, presumably, those you refer to as "left") suppress heavily is support to Palestine, which is not exactly an AfD talking point.
They literally jail & raid their political opponents. They have a list of wrong think they've targeted whenever people question the mainstream establishment agendas.
Again, the authoritarian left & centrist are what has contributed to the growth of the AfD.
I hope people can find something better than the AfD,. but those groups will try to capture people leaving one form of authoritarianism for another.
