I ended up going to a Good Guys and found a hectic Panasonic 4 in 1 microwave/oven/griller/steamer on the clearance table as an ex display for almost half price. It has all these extra features and is still a flatbed microwave.

I just need to figure out how we're going to use all these extra settings, if we do at all. How do you get your head around having the ability to grill and microwave something at the same time?

And then the next challenge is getting the rest of the house to learn how to use it

You get used to it. Microwave safe dishes for the microwave. Oven safe dishes for the grill and oven. Ceramic for microwave/oven combo or microwave/grill combo.

Start by using them individually then move on to the combos.

I can already see some benefits, like for food that cooks faster in the microwave but tastes better from the oven, or baking in there and using the steamer to keep things moist. It will be a fun adventure
