While I can't speak for the rest of my country coughfreedomfriescough , I have always enjoyed the French and their military prowess.

I wonder how William Duke of Normandy would react if you told him one day their countrymen would build a tunnel to england but not to invade them

France has the best Military record of any nation. They have been involved in over 2/3rds of all European wars since the 1500s.

Maybe France is playing the long con and is secretly giddy they convinced England to pay for half the tunnel construction?

Modern military invasion isn't really feasible through the chunnel, but an 11th century force? It would take weeks to land the armies you could march through in a day.

France is playing 5d chess thinking ahead to WW4.
