Ah, but you see, even if you are correct (probably are), there's still the chance that I'm ALSO a bad person! Checkmate.

I should probably see a therapist.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 minutes ago

I do that too, but I still feel terrible because I can't remember if this is one of the people to whom I said that!

I feel so bad, because people know MY name and I can't reciprocate. Is it because I'm a bad, self-centered person? A medical issue? Something else?

Gives me anxiety, bud.

We have dementia in my family too, but only after 80+ where I suppose one should expect it.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

Well, thank you very much for pointing this out.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago

Especially in a country where healthcare is expensive, that's really frustrating. That always happens to me, even when I'm taking a kid to the pediatrician. If I didn't have notes I'd be completely lost.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Huh. Maybe I'm on that spectrum. I barely remember anything from before I was 20 and as I said up top I have some really big gaps after that too.

I wonder how you would find out for sure.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

That sounds like a neat setup.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 hours ago

Oh my gods, you see me!

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 hours ago

It's very aggravating, and super embarrassing. I carry a lot of stress and self doubt about my incapacity and what people think of me.

I forget medical info all the time. When was my last dentist visit? I dunno. Which kid had their tonsils out? What's my blood type?

Wife asks "remember when I had strep last year?" No...

Has anyone in my house had COVID? I think so, but which one(s)?

I forget vacations we took, what states I've been to.

Terrible at remembering people that I've met even a bunch of times.

Horrible at work. I'm on top of what's happening now, mostly, because I have notes, but what happened a year ago? Gosh.

It's really frustrating living like this, but I don't know how much might be my ADHD and how much is just me having a bad brain.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 hours ago

Well let me know what you think.

Good for him.

For example, this one. https://lemmyverse.link/lazysoci.al/post/26817260

It's about half of posts I looked at today.

Yesterday's parade and Turquoise carpet was my first good look at many of the participants. Lots of them have really remarkable outfits.

The commentary wasn't very interesting, but I'm not all the way through yet and country #1 Australia hasn't reached the venue and interview area yet. for me.

I was really heartened to see so many Pride and Palestine flags in addition to all the national flags.

When Israel's delegation was announced there was some really noticeable booing! The crowd was chanting something but I couldn't make it out. Can anyone with better ears help me out?

A trans parent would likely still want to be called "Mom" or "Dad", I assume. At least that's the case with the few trans parents I know.

Parents don't usually use "daughter" or "son" as pronouns, so I don't think it would come up with non-binary children.

Do children of non-binary parents call their parents by their first name? It seems unlikely that they say "Parent, may I please have more screen time?".

I've got an extra tall living room, and without a 15' ladder there's no way I can actuate the pull down shades. I would be annoyed to have to climb up to change batteries a few times a year. What I would ideally want are some kind of window shade or blinds with a remote or HA controllable, and a little solar panel to collect the juicy rays of the sun.

I have found hard wired shades, battery powered shades with remotes, and zigbee etc shades, but not exactly what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions?

I don't actually HAVE any automation at home beyond some hated Alexas, but these shades would be a great place to start.

Thanks in advance.

This was really fun. 350 chapters I burned through in ten days. The main character is a standard dungeon mimic (like from D&D) that gets lucky and becomes ridiculously OP by the end of the book. It's got lots of interesting characters, and I really enjoyed reading a book where the protagonist is not good aligned at all. I suppose Boxxy T. Morningwood (the T stands for Trap) would be chaotic evil?

There is some definitely NSFW stuff, but Boxxy is itself genderless and asexual, so it's not like a lame harem story.

There's tons of commissioned and fan art linked in the chapters and more on the author's discord.

Let me know if you read it! I'd be interested to hear your opinions.

I have had the problem several times where I search for a post or comment that I know exists, but because I've got "hide after vote" enabled, it doesn't show up in search results. It's there a way to see hidden posts/comments in the search results?

I'll put some game codes in the comments, reply to let others know you've claimed it!

Dark theme is almost impossible to see. Dark blue on dark gray and black is a mess, at least in my phone.

Vidbir, the Ukrainian national selection, was yesterday. Did you watch it? What were your favorite songs?

Full recording (4.5 hours with passable English translation)

Playlist of music videos

My favorite was Future Culture's Waste My Time. It's going on my new "Not good enough for Eurovision but good enough for me" playlist. (Inspired by the Eurovangelists podcast) I'll concede that it was unlikely to be chosen because it's not particularly "Ukrainian", which has been successful for them recently.
