Yes and no. It’s usually not outright contempt like in this article. Pity, sometimes, but usually not outright contempt. Usually they try to avoid having any strong feelings about the men, positive or negative. Because staying disengaged with the men helps them maintain some professional distance and separate their work from their life.
Source: Dated a cam girl for a while, {insert obligatory “it’s not dating if you’re paying her” joke here}, and am friends with several others. The clients that were the hardest for my ex to stay detached from were the dudes who clearly just wanted a pretty girl to listen to them vent for a few minutes. Lots of the men were clearly just extremely lonely and had nobody in their personal circles to talk to. She always joked that she was cheaper than therapy, and therapists would probably lose their license if they kept her dress code. But that pity made it hard for her to stay detached from those clients.
