Responses that completely destroy the original argument in a way that leaves little to no room for reply - a targeted, well-placed response to another person, organization, or group of people.

The following things are not grounds for murder:

Rules:

  1. Be civil and remember the human. No name calling or insults. Swearing in general is fine, but not to insult someone else.
  2. Discussion is encouraged but arguments are not. Don’t be aggressive and don’t argue for arguments sake.
  3. No bigotry of any kind.
  4. Censor the person info of anyone not in the public eye.
  5. If you break the rules you’ll get one warning before you’re banned.
  6. Enjoy the community in the light hearted way it’s intended.

The next slogan dropping from the Department of Labor:
work makes you free

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 58 points 1 week ago

I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t.

Very fitting when half the country is already like a forced labor camp

It’s way more than half. Between just Amazon and Walmart they employ 3.5 million.

And there are plenty of other shitty jobs besides those two.

"We've always been at war with Canada"

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, shit! Are they renaming the DoD “The Department of Peace” now?

[–] DakRalter@thelemmy.club 2 points 1 week ago

It does but arbeit macht frei was a nazi slogan and tbh it goes well for the bootstraps folks: "you just need to work harder for a better life" essentially.

"Freedom takes work"

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Annoyingly, Nazis stole each one of their slogans. “Arbeit macht frei” is from the 1873 novel by Lorenz Diefenbach, in which gamblers and fraudsters find the path to virtue through labour, alluding to John 8:31–32.

Yeah they don't exactly have a lot of creativity of their own. But much like the swastika and certain tunes, it's now associated with nazis rather than its original source

In corporate HR culture jargon, teamwork brings opportunities.
