like nitter and xcancel got a musky cease and desist letter and they promptly closed the service and the repository.
If any corporation decides any software is hurting their bottom line, anything is fair game to them.
While I agree that sucked hard, it's not exactly a like comparison to the software in OP.
No, not exactly like.
Linux: any distro not implementing age verification becomes illegal
Searx: search engines already implement captchas and ridiculous rate limits.
Fediverse: inconvenient node operators can be categorized as terrorists, like the italian anarchists who were providing web services.
Signal will just buzz off countries implementing backdoors. Until it's not put next to Encrochat. Same with GrapheneOS.
US already banned routers. Those should be entirely provided by ISPs only at some point.
