the NYC subway is basically snowpiercer, it's so utterly vital that it seems to function purely because the universe recognizes that it isn't allowed to stop working.
Almost. Reality is even more impressive because it is so crucial for NYC, that, even in the US, authorities are investing just enough for it to not fall apart in one big bang.
