You’re coming off as victim blaming as a heads up.

Separately, we should live in a world better than using people so explicitly.

Separately, we should live in a world better than using people so explicitly.

That would be great... but it's wishful thinking.

The Achilles heel of the libertarian left has always been realpolitik - that's just what the historical record shows. All historical "cells of resistance" - from the Iga and Koga province rebellions in medieval Japan to modern-day Exarcheia in Greece - only existed thanks to political chaos caused by power vacuums. Once the political chaos became stabilised, their days were numbered. Therefore, it stands to reason that the only way to secure the future of such a "cell of resistance" is to ensure the political chaos does not subside.

There is only one way I can see of accomplishing that, and that is to ensure there are plenty of enemies around to play off against each other.

It's a very tall order, to be sure - but not nearly as tall as simply hoping that the status quo meekly accepts the existential threat you pose to it's existence once it re-establishes itself.

No, their overton windows stabilized around the most prevalent and workable systems that were supported by their era.

Edit: you’re implying violence is required to shift the overton window to the left. While I agree that waiting for the death of the last generation guarantees movement forward, the most harmonious option is to finally learn to adapt at the pace of technology without becoming quagmired in king of the hill exercises that’re recidivistic.

No, their overton windows stabilized

You have a pretty defeatist understanding of the term "workable."

you’re implying violence is required to shift the overton window to the left.

I never implied anything of the sort.

I forthrightly state out loud that the use of force is absolutely necessary to move anything left.

While I agree that waiting for the death of the last generation guarantees movement forward,

Agree? With whom? I never said I buy into this esoteric and ageist liberal claptrap of blaming everything on older people.

the most harmonious option

Fuck harmony.
