I’ve said it before and it just seems to be getting more obvious that they want us all on thin-client-like PCs with subscriptions for any service that requires actual computing power - streaming your games over something like GeForce NOW. Best case scenario, you’re allowed to rent a PC at exorbitant rates with somewhat decent hardware.
Or, and maybe this is just showing my age, if you make it too hard, I will just go without a computer.

The Luddites were right all along.
They actually really were if you read their points. Technological advances are so often pushed on people as a power grab by the wealthy
Rent or finance, just like a car.
