"pornography should be outlawed" is surely a winning electoral strategy
It really is. Even on here you hear people use their talking points of how porn is addictive in nature. Mormons believe its so bad they declared it a public health crisis. I bet if you polled most Americans they would choose to restrict access to porn in some way.
If you asked them in public, no doubt.
Even in private I bet it still would be rather high just by my interactions with people, but I am always open to being wrong.
