Also strange how as a trans person my existence is only pornographic to them. Wonder where they got that association from? Sounds like some kind of sexual pathology.

To paraphrase: The world is but a porno, and us its stars.

In a lot of online freeze-gamer chatrooms I've seen that the very same bunch that wishes suffering and death to trans people also will not shut the fuck up about their enthusiasm for (cw: transphobic-adjacent slang)

spoiler"futa"
porn in the same chat.

People dehumanizing the people they experience exclusively through porn? Shocker

The fact it's wrapped in progressive language is a lovecraftian terror. Postmodernism and it's consequences are a man-made horror beyond human comprehension

Leftists in 2019: "Here's what the President can do in his first 100 days... lists a bunch of universally beneficial public policy changes"

Conservatives in 2023: "Here's what the President can do in his first 100 days... screams at trans kids"

"pornography should be outlawed" is surely a winning electoral strategy

[–] CoolYori@hexbear.net 23 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It really is. Even on here you hear people use their talking points of how porn is addictive in nature. Mormons believe its so bad they declared it a public health crisis. I bet if you polled most Americans they would choose to restrict access to porn in some way.

[–] regul@hexbear.net 26 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If you asked them in public, no doubt.

[–] CoolYori@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

Even in private I bet it still would be rather high just by my interactions with people, but I am always open to being wrong.

Ah yes, public librarians, famously broad purveyors of pornography. That's what the computers at the library must be for: porn.

In a lot of American cities with inadequate housing and mental health care, they are.

It is not a political Gordian knot

The point of the Gordian knot is that it could be cut through and thereby abolish the complexity that it previously entailed. Saying it is not a Gordian knot makes them trip over their own feet here. Reading comprehension is for wokes though. galaxy-brain

“We’re concerned about the sexualization of minors!” says the movement with scores of underage sex scandals under its belt.

They're barbaric enough and preoccupied enough at this point that they'd make that a feature of a future consititutional convention with its own special paragraph for "TRANS BAD" while the authors of that new version would simultaneously be jacking it to trans-objectifying fantasy porn on 4chan while writing it. frothingfash

Dammn you mean teacher doesn't get to show pizza delivery guy sex videos in the classroom any more? How will we survive this attack on our cultural heritage

I once literally had to watch porn in high school. This was in Norway, maybe 2018 or 2019. Some weirdo (not a member of school staff) was giving a presentation in the auditorium and basically everyone in my year had to be there. This guy was going on and on about proper psycho-sexual development and the evils of hardcore pornography and how facials were an inherently misogynistic expression of masculine dominance/ownership of women or something like that, and he, like, actually put up a picture of assfucking from some porno on the big ol' projector screen.

...I'm honestly not gonna say it was traumatic or necessarily bad, but it was weird as fuck and I still think about what the hell that guy's deal was and why he got to make this weird-ass presentation at my high school. This isn't even a joke this actually happened and I'm still perplexed by it.
