I remember planking at least as far back as 2014

[–] EmoThugInMyPhase@hexbear.net 43 points 2 years ago

My kids are still planking while doing the cinnamon challenge

I took my 17 year old niece and some of her friends to the mall in my Lightning. They loved the frunk when I put all their bags in there. I said "my frunk is going to be a bit smaller soon when my CT gets here."

I didn't expect the negative reaction at this point, but they all basically told me I was awful for buying it. The only one who gave a reason was that it is incredibly unsafe with no crumple zone, any occupant gets severely hurt in a crash even if the truck looks fine. Then that's all they talked about, how unsafe the CT was, until I dropped them off at home.

When a 17 year old has more sense and self-preservation instinct than a grown adult.

Had one next to me on the road like 2 weeks ago and holy hell it’s just… like I had to hold back laughter that shit looks like someone took the drawing their 4 year old made of a car on their fridge and had someone try and render that into a 3D object. I don’t understand how someone could want that.

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Apparently it is based off of one of Elon's car sketches

[–] Facky@hexbear.net 18 points 2 years ago (1 children)

So basically a 4 year olds drawing.

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

Oh yeah, totally.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 49 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't understand it. I bought the meme truck! Why don't the youths acknowledge that I'm epic???

That website is a gift that keeps giving lmao

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 34 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

I should study that site to improve my impersonations of fanboy dipshits. It's hard for me to believe they are real people speaking unironically. It seems like some kind of elaborate hoax site.

[–] viva_la_juche@hexbear.net 24 points 2 years ago

one thing i've learned from perusing that place is if you think you're being to over the top just double it lmao

I think they are talking about this one, linked in the OP (I hope this doesn't come across snarky, I don't intend for it to)

[–] Robbsen1@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 2 years ago

Thanks! I genuinely did not see the link in the OP. And nit, that did nit come off as snarky

I will raise my children as maoists

[–] SoloboiNanook@hexbear.net 39 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I saw one on the road for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was straight up disgusting. I'm a car hobbyist kinda guy (I know) and I thought it was a fuckin abomination. Looks awful in person. Significantly worse than a lot of the media released, and it didn't look great there.

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 34 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's very helpful that the worst people in the world are visibly sorting themselves into a recognizable warning sign for normal people though.

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

And they're more likely to die while driving these cars, so that's good.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

It would he funny to spray these cars with a very small squirt of diluted hydrochloric acid.

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 32 points 2 years ago

The kids are okay

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 32 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'd rather buy The Homer than this janky piece of shit. It's cooler, and probably cheaper, too.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago

plus it's got the little ball for finding it in the parking lot

[–] ziggurter@hexbear.net 29 points 2 years ago

Apparently it doesn't even have door handles. Fuck off, Tesla.

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 29 points 2 years ago

This man's cope to pretend others have fallen for some sort of nefarious ploy to convince them of a narrative that makes cybertruck and the rest of elons terrible mistakes look like terrible mistakes!

He knows better tho

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They're cheugy. I don't make the rules.

shrug-outta-hecks

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

wtf is that how you spell it? I've only ever heard it spoken

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah. I only know it from Boonta Vista, apparently all the teens are saying it these days.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago
