In America we sometimes caricature France is like the quitters or coward in conflict. In Japan, they see Italy the same way.

Spaghetti is just ramen that surrendered

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Perhaps Plagarized Ramen?

~~How does France factor into it? Spaghetti is Italian, isn't it?~~

Misread the comment, see replies

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is just a pararel between the way Americans see French people to how Japaneses see Italians.

[–] Moghul@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Noodles were invented in China, so the inverse would be more accurate.

Ramen is anime lamian. Chinese pulled noodles.

Italy is associated with spaghetti (see spaghetti western)

So the inserse would be "spaghetti ramen"

僕はバカです

[–] brb@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's not tho? Ramen is a dish and spaghetti is an ingredient

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Ramen noodles are an ingredient.

Also, since pasta noodles originated on the Pacific Coast, it would be more accurate to say that spaghetti is just Gangster Ramen.

Noodles come from Asia, not Italy.

Tomatoes come from America.

So not much in spaghetti is from Italy.
