Took me some time and struggled with choosing the right colors at first, but I'm super happy with how it turned out!

I used this pattern from etsy!

It's great! Looks like something I remember my mom or other people wearing in the 1970s, but you picked much better colors.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 5 points 2 years ago

Hahaha thank you so much!

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I feel like the colors are the same as what I saw my mom wear and the Afghan we had on the back of the couch, but they're emphasized differently. Like the black was much more prominent making the old ones darker.

I like this much better. It's pretty awesome.

Thank you! The flashy colors distract really well from all the botch hahah

Super awesome design and color choices. I really dig this. You did a fantastic job!

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 3 points 2 years ago

Thank you! Love the pattern as well! Took me some attempts to decide on the colors, but I think they harmonize really well now : )

So cool and looks really comfy 😺

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 4 points 2 years ago

It is! I'm glad I could find some really soft yarn for this ^-^

Weee fancy colors! Though your fingers betrayed you, they say it was actually the second.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 2 points 2 years ago

Well technically ... I did start a different one before that, but then quickly switched to this one because it's better suitable for summer 😅

[–] TubeTalkerX@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago

It's a beaut, Clark!

[–] StaySquared@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

How long did that take you? I've always felt that was a tedious task.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It is a bit tedious, since you need quite a few of those patches, but to me it was a fun thing to do to relax! Took me about 4 weekends on and off working on it : )

[–] scrion@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That's actually a lot less than I would've thought. I'll simply assume you simply know what you're doing and I'd probably take more like 40.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

I do have a lot of time on my hands on weekends, admittedly. But once you get in the zone the patches are really easy to make! especially since it's basically just the two patterns

I love the cardigan design you made! It has a vintage look to it.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 2 points 2 years ago

I just followed the pattern I got on etsy! But I agree, also love that design!

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

Bruv...that's amazing!

[–] myfavouritename@beehaw.org 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well done! I really like the colours and the pattern. Does the bottom hem have a sawtooth kind of edge? Is it made of diamonds or did you fill in the gaps with triangles?

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

It's just the diamonds, so yes, it doesn't have a straight bottom hem!

[–] SorteKanin@feddit.dk 2 points 2 years ago

The square tile pattern reminds me of these old pot coasters my grandma had (I can only assume she made them herself). Really nostalgic.

[–] scrion@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I could have sworn it's impossible to make crochet clothes that are so easily wearable nowadays. I have to admit, the colorful patches do remind me a bit of potholders we had when I was a kid, but it's faint and the cardigan looks great, maybe the nostalgia even adds to it.

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly, that "potholders" nostalgia is just what made me love this pattern so much :D I like the weird vibe, but I think it's just in such a way that it still looks nice hahah

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

It looks amazing!

[–] Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wow thats super cool! Some things are just better made by hand and You look very nice, the colors are also very vibrant which really pulls it all together great job!

Thats somthing to be proud of!

[–] mourningcrows@mander.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

Thank you so much! I like the uniqueness of handmade clothes like that! Wish I could sew to make more hahah

[–] Norule6@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 years ago

Nice work!!! It's beautiful.

[–] DavidGarcia@feddit.nl 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I don't like crochet but that is really nice. I especially like the choice of colors, looks like a butterfly

[–] DFWSAM@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Very bright and cheery palette, nice work!
