This is good to know if I ever need it. Fortunately, we have many barn swallows that nest/breed on our property. They spend most of their days flying all over our property eating mosquitos and other small bugs such as black flies. I, rarely, see these bugs on our property.

I wish I could have something like this but I'm positive it won't work. Underneath the tiles, our balcony is basically a big water basin that slowly drains on one side. There's so so so many mosquitos. Pls help ๐Ÿ˜ต

if you can plop the tablets in there, i think that would help!

Where do you usually get them? I tried my local gardening centre but they don't seem to stock any :(

Outdoor fan, with a mesh in front of it, will capture so many mosquito's.

Depending on where you live and how dangerous the mosquitoes are, there is a tradeoff with also unnecessarily killing many other flying insects. On top of that, mosquitoes are an important food source to other animals and they are also pollinators. So I'd only go with this solution if the mosquitoes in your area spread diseases.

What's your problem with mosquitos?

[โ€“] jet@hackertalks.com 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Mosquitoes are absolutely vital for the ecosystem, it would take a long time for nature to adjust to a gap if they all disappeared, but when people are living in vicinity to mosquitoes it can be unpleasant, and a health hazard

So negative, why so negative about mosquitos? You know you can block posts from this community if you want. Being so negative about mosquitos says a lot about what kind of person you are.

Agree with autumn, you really need to try some mosquito dunks down there, it could really help!

[โ€“] LallyLuckFarm@beehaw.org 5 points 1 year ago

It doesn't look like BT will help but https://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7401.html has several methods you could apply.

Super informative post, thanks for sharing!
