Did users of other subreddit-logos also get hit with these or were we privileged?

I feel like it was just an excuse to hamper activity on the sub or they would have told you what the rule-breaking post was.

I'm 99% sure it was targeted at the CTH sub. They don't even have the rule against promoting violence anymore, they got rid of it at the start of the invasion of Ukraine. If you check the old subreddit it says it was banned for promoting hate.

I thought we got banned because we said JOHN BROWN DID NOTHING WRONG how were we promoting hate

[–] PorkrollPosadist@hexbear.net 36 points 2 years ago (2 children)

We got banned for "breaking rules." They never specified which ones in their announcement.

One time a turbolib told me that the subreddit universally wanted Trump to win based on a handful of users saying it as a hypothetical. When I explained this to them, they pivoted to arguing that we wanted Trump to win because we break the rules.

I remember one of the admins had a buried comment from several years prior to the CTH incidents where he expressed worry that the working class would enslave the upper class and the only way to keep on top of it was to keep themselves on top, in a reddit comment.

People connected thats why they where so sensitive about people saying to kill slave owners though; the upper class are genuinally terrified of a popular movement that romanovs them.

It's very uncivil to say slave owners should be killed 😤 You need to consider both sides of the issue of owning human beings as property.

[–] HiImThomasPynchon@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago

"Remember the human"

[–] Drewfro66@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 2 years ago

The sub was quarantined for calling for death to slave owners. It was banned for "Hate speech against cops".

lmao really? That’s so blatant. Did they write a post about it or just removed it silently?

[–] ElGosso@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

Silently removed.

[–] HiImThomasPynchon@hexbear.net 32 points 2 years ago

Yep. I got two back-to-back, my ban expired and then before I could even upvote or post I was banned again.

Why did the lemmy libs even leave reddit? This is exactly what they want.

Its a classic case of the Leopards Eating Faces Party discovering a leopard on their face.

Lemmy is full of victims of friendly fire, Radlibs and Trumpsters and 3%ers and the occasional leftist who pissed off the wrong mod, and anyone with a personality more interesting than toilet paper who bucked the narrative one time too many.

You have engaged in public wrong think, brace for orbital strike.

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 21 points 2 years ago

I remember people talking about it but I don't know if I ever got one.

The only suspension I ever got on Reddit was when I criticised modern animal agriculture. I didnt even know that you could get suspensions just from upvoting, now I wonder how many if any of the multitudes of transphobes on that hellsite got hit with this.

[–] BlueMagaChud@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

reddit-logo really didn't like when I suggested that their precious pupperinos are really fucked up genetic experiments from exploiting animals affected by Williams syndrome

sicko-wistful

[–] olafurp@lemmy.ml 19 points 2 years ago

Since switching to lemmy I've never gotten these 😏

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago

They stopped even pretending to report what it was that you did that was in violation of some undeclared rule. And since the entire admin system is just three poor bastards in the Philippines getting gore-bombed until their eyes bleed, there's no real way to challenge or appeal any of this shit.

One more reason why you shouldn't fuck with Reddit. Or, if you absolutely feel compelled because has the obscure info you're after, maintain a pile of alt-accounts that you can rotate through on a browser in ~~Piracy Mode~~ Incognito Mode so you don't have to worry about tracking cookies.

I've got hit by this at random.

[–] BlueMagaChud@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

I created a new account because I got 9 of those in a row. I believe it was because I was saying brandon committed SA.

I don't know. I never checked my reddit inbox gigachad-hd

Got a couple. One for calling a chud cracker, then when he cried about it I called him Ritz or something. Another time I said that if the justice system in Romania was worth anything, they'd remove Andrew Taint from society permanently.

[–] mojo@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I've literally never seen this but I now realize I'm in a hexbear community

[–] milistanaccount09@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

Honestly I never got one either. I never posted particularly hard on the old site so maybe that's why? Not sure though, I certainly would have up voted any number of 'rulebreaking' posts.
