This goose is the Australian White Ibis. Starting in the 1970s, these birds started taking over the city-dwelling niches usually associated with pigeons and seagulls, so now Australian trash bins have a different bird rummaging through them than anywhere else.

We call them bin chickens. Mostly an urban/suburban New South Wales and Queensland thing afaik. Seagulls, cockatoos, ravens and crows are still the rubbish rummagers in the states further south.

I don't mean to start a struggle session but I'd much rather have an ibis be my local trash bird than pigeons or seagulls. Ibises are cool-looking. Oops. Did I say too much?

look I love grackles in every single aspect and they are the clear queens and kings of texas trash but if I could get a little trash ibis in my day-to-day I would be amped
