This is obviously a "social media manager" generating "engagement". And look at that, it works.

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And what's the bet that most of the accounts they blocked were their own alts?

[–] Vespair@lemm.ee 10 points 2 years ago

They didn't even block anyone; this reply was planned before the first tweet ever went live.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 56 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Fake, but it made me laugh. Sadly for Jersey Mike's their advertisement, however amusing, won't help as there isn't one anywhere near. Or far. Possibly really far and I'm not going that far.

[–] Just_Not_Funny@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago (7 children)

You're not missing anything. They're the worst of the sandwich chains, IMO.

[–] Fridgeratr@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Subway exists and takes that spot no contest

[–] PraiseTheSoup@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Quality is about the same if we're being honest, but I can feed two people at subway for the price of one at Jersey Mike's

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I'm not a huge fan of either place but Jersey Mike's crushes Subway. There's no comparison!

[–] stark@qlemmy.com 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What do you consider to be the best?

[–] pezhore@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

DiBella's, hands fucking down. Failing that, a sub from Wegmans.

[–] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Are those east coast places or something? I've never seen either one.

My hierarchy is Potbelly > Jersey Mike's > Subway. There's also Jimmy John's, but I haven't been to one for a long time because I was boycotting them, but I'll have to give them a try since I found out the company changed owners.

Oh and Quiznos might still be good, but they have so few locations I thought they didn't exist anymore.

[–] pezhore@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Wegmans is an East coast grocery store, but IIRC DiBella's has made it all the way to Indiana.

[–] Astroturfed@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

I mean, subway fucking exists and the bar is so low at the other ones I'm not sure if put them near the bottom. Look for a local option and check that out is always the better option for food.

[–] ThePac@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

One thing I will give them is the one time I went to one the produce was very fresh. Points for that. The bread sucked and the meat was spare.

[–] chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I like their Phillies, but that was where Phillies weren't that common. The mall had Phillies too, and honestly I think I liked em better, but Jersey Mike's was faster to get to.

[–] skulblaka@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago

Jersey Mike's consistently has good Phillies in places that don't know how to make a good Philly. I'm also personally a fan of the club sandwich mike's way. But that's about it. Everything else I can take it or leave it.

Those Phillies though, they keep me coming back to JM's in new places.

[–] SilverFlame@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

We just call them Cheesesteaks here

[–] radau@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 years ago

You've insulted my entire existence I challenge you to a duel

[–] Vespair@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

This is an insane take. Like fuck corporations and fuck this kind of insidious marketing, but JM's is easily the very top of the chain-based sandwich restaurants

[–] _number8_@lemmy.world 54 points 2 years ago (2 children)

can we have a lemmy wide rule to not post corporate banter

[–] Draedron@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Where is the issue if it is funny?

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Because it's how we ended up with Elongated Muskrat thinking he's an untouchable meme lord.

I agree it's funny but just like when brands first started doing this it felt like it was a bad idea

[–] joe@lemmy.knocknet.net 14 points 2 years ago

You can't have a Lemmy wide rule for anything because that's not how federation works.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.de 51 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is an ad. Not speaking as a mod here, I don't think this post breaks any rules.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website 38 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I just assumed it was fake.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.de 13 points 2 years ago

It might be, dunno ^^

[–] Neve8028@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago

Idk lots of brands are doing this kind of social media marketing these days.

[–] ziggurism@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I don’t get it. Are those toppings controversial? What even are they? Pickles?

[–] Thcgrasscity@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

[–] Freeanotherday@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)
