WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday he wants the U.S. to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere.
“We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,” Trump said a start of a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"bOTh sIDez ArE thE saME!!!1!" amirite?

If anyone reading this is one of those "undecideds" or were banging the third party drum and are tired of hearing "we told you so", well, bad news, buckaroos: You better buckle up because I'm just getting started.

commented this elsewhere, but the general idea is that by showing that an important contingent of the left won't vote for a pro genocide president, the democrats will have no choice but to run a candidate that is electable in the future.

this means that trump might be president in 2024. That sucks, but most of the damage has already been done (supreme court, senate, etc). Might as well show the dems that they have to run a candidate that supports the rights of civilians all around the globe

@fart@sh.itjust.works This you? How's that attitude working out for you now, huh? Hope your moral purity eases your conscious because this is partly on YOU.

i felt powerless because the dems were supporting genocide, so i tried leveraging what little power i had months out before the election to bluff and say i wouldn't vote unless they stopped doing genocide in gaza. how is that not CLEARLY the best option?

why are you blaming anyone but the people fucking killing civilians in gaza? Biden had the ability to end the whole thing with a phone call and didn't

[–] fart@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

i voted for harris in pennsylvania man idk what to tell you

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au -1 points 3 months ago

Blame everyone but the DNC.

If you haven’t heard his exact words I recommend watching the video to get the gravity of how insane and evil he truly is

The whole thing is worth watching, but here's some timestamped links to a couple of parts of the presser where he discusses this:

I think around the 38 minute mark is the closest he gets to answering who is going to live in the Gaza strip in the future.

[–] ChowJeeBai@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lol thanks for your vote (and non votes) suckers! Just don't call it genocide. Watch netanyahu's face during the press conference. Trump is a useful idiot and he and other leaders know it.

[–] dragontamer@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

Literally genocide.

As opposed to the fake over exaggerated genocide the Free Palestine protesters were uppity about. Let's raise you a real fucking Genocide.

Both sides tho.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

That was genocide too. This is just a faster and more ruthless genocide. Those were the options offered to American voters, and they chose Nazism, extra genocide, and plunder by billionaires.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It's revealing how libs cry far more about the very few people opposing genocide than about the millions of people in an extremely racist society calling for more genocide.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

fake over exaggerated genocide

Libs going mask off. Genocidal denial won't reverse the dem's complete failure.

[–] dragontamer@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Free Palestine going full mask off. They don't even bother protesting over Trump or recent actions as things get worse. It was all bullshit.

[–] Hotzilla@sopuli.xyz 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

This will take US to a war, which is even bigger shitshow than Iraq and Afghanistan. It will mean boots on the ground for next 50 years.

He said that Biden/Kamala will take US to a war, but projection is what he always does.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It won't be a war, it'll be sending US troops to commit genocide.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

The genocide will cause war with neighbors.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 months ago

Dear imperial news... It's called "ethnic cleansing".

[–] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago

Mar-A-Lago is 7 hectares, maybe start with that little bit of land for resettlement?

[–] rauls4@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Leopards eating a lot of faces.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

There are no leopards eating faces. But people are literally being genocided in palestine. Maybe find something real and worthwhile to cry about.

[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

The world doesn't need another Trump golf course

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 3 points 3 months ago

With my money? Pry it from my cold, dead hands first.

[–] ModestMeme@lemm.ee 0 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Yet there won’t be much protesting going in the US….

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Well if there is, they will send you to checks notes El Salvador. El Salvador? That shit came out of left field. Is it nice there? Any extra judicial killings or what not?

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

El Salvador has a president who has gutted what used to be a democracy and runs the country as an autocrat. Trump and his fellow scumbags (Marco fucking Rubio for one) are watching him with admiration and taking notes.

If there are protests, the libs of lemmy will be denouncing and blaming the protesters because kamalacaust lost.
