The technology, known as hydraulic brake-by-wire, removes the mechanical link between the brake system and the brake pedal

So basically they turn the mechanical signal(foot pedal) to digital signal then back to mechanical signal(hydraulic brake actuator) instead of 1 to 1 mechanical braking.

The technology saves weight and installation space by eliminating the requirement for hydraulics

Now the car is 0.1% lighter! And cheaper to produce so they can raise the price even more because reasons!

The technology incorporates two independent hydraulic brake actuators – a by-wire actuator and an ESP (electronic stability program) actuator. This arrangement does away with the redundancy required for conventional integrated power brake systems, in which malfunctions may occur in the mechanical connection to the brake pedal.

Now car can be even more dangerous to drive because they doesn't need safety redundancy!

It's also possible to come up with new brake pedal concepts that have considerably less travel, which frees up room for innovative interior designs.

Like the one that will caught on the mat!

On motorcycles, brake-by-wire would require a lot of redundancy and failsafes to make sure that the smallest malfunction wouldn't endanger the rider.

And on car, you just crash into the crowd as an emergency braking! Very safe!

So when you don’t pay your monthly fee your brakes don’t work. Neat.

Can you quote the passage which mentions a monthly subscription? Maybe I overread it.

Why would they name the brakes electrically controlled if they weren’t going to sell them on a monthly subscription?
