We've had a break in at our office overnight! So far nothing appears stolen, but the office is crawling with cops blowing fingerprint dust everywhere.

For those who care, Canada beat the USA in the 4 Nations hockey tournament, in overtime.

A great day for Canada, therefore the entire the Commonwealth and largely the world.

I shall proudly wear my Canadian hockey cap, t-shirt and puffer vest this weekend. Seriously I have the collection. (Saved from the skip a few years ago). 🇨🇦

One of the great things about getting into work early is there's no one there to notice you got in 5 minutes late

-wake up

  • win10 work machine rebooted update overnight closing all open docs despite explicitly being told not to cheers ya fuckhead
  • Win7 machine decides it now hates name resolution
  • tweak dns / set to dhcp, no go
  • flush dns no go
  • pull up dns repository and see some freah adobe hell in there
  • use win10 machine to scoop latest blacklist for hosts file while i'm at it
  • win 7 machine won't talk to win10 machine or ping (talks to everything else) but win10 can ping win 7

Oh. It's gonna be one of those days.

That was an alright sort of day. Feel like I've been operating on autopilot... anyway it's good to be home to a pre-cooled lounge room, time to heat up a hearty dinner and enjoy this week's tv! My favourite thing about Fridays atm 🥳

What's everyone's plans for the weekend? I've got to list these dang little items on fbm before my rental inspection in two weeks, and probably do more bulk cooking. Nothing much else otherwise. Try and finish Juice, I guess

Shopping tomorrow early as possible at Southland for groceries and a click and collect.

Staying cool and catching up Severance if I don’t get to it tonight.

I think cricket match might be on tomorrow so I’ll try and catch that too.

At the moment I have no idea what groceries I want to get so that’s a bit of a bother.

Just trapped a wolf spider in the sink. Couldn't get out. Damn fast buggers. But I will be merciful.

Gonna take it outside

E: Oops. Resident magpie saw me do that.. RIP wolf spider.

I am very much over trying to move and photograph heavy things to sell. Especially because there is not much room to move them in. But I've been having a good run on Marketplace and hopefully these will all be cleared out and I can stop tripping over them. buying that antique post drill press seemed a much better idea when I didn't realise how big and heavy it was! Getting it to the front door if I manage to sell it is going to be quite a workout.

Yeah, I've hurt my knee. Pes anserine bursitis at a very educated guess. Got a bag of Epsom salt glad wrapped to it... And elevated.

Well that was surprisingly not so difficult. REA was on leave and had no auto reply but when I called the agency they were very attentive, escalated to another PM who called me then got in touch with the owners and scheduled in a maintenance request all within 2 hours. Pumber called at lunch, they'll come in on Monday. I guess it's a good thing the next two days are gonna be hot so I won't really need the hot water anyway!

Relieved it didn't involve a whole lot of back and forth and procrastinating from the REA/dodgy edit.

maintenance request all within 2 hours

From experience.. very wise on their part. Water can ruin everyone's day.

Downside of new house, no Pokestops! Plenty a short wander away, but no ability to just drop a lure and stay home if the weather is vile. I shall have to do something about this...

Looks like my good run on marketplace is at an end. Today's buyer was a no show, and the person who made an offer on another item yesterday has ghosted. I knew it was too good to last!

I need to restock my snack tin.

I will be taking suggestions. Savoury or sweet are equally acceptable to me, but please bear in mind my snack tin is a pretty standard rectangular biscuit tin in terms of size.

I’ve been to Whistler Blackcomb a couple of times. That’s really all I know of Canada.

So based on that limited experience, 6/5 Hobbits

Cat tax to cleanse the eyes of all those who dared to read my witchy-toes update. I gotchu fam

Test run sedating the cats. TheVoid isn't visibly affected but the LittleOne is utterly out of his gourd.

The amount of blankets I had on last night was ridiculous, considering how warm it is going to be today...

Life on the upside (because I'm only a misanthropic misery guts 99.¯9% of the time)... Yesterday, I got an unexpected message from a beautiful soul I know and I passed one unit with an unexpected mark (like the bell curve must have been hell skewed, but I'll take it damn it!).

I mean, how can I even feel sorry for myself half the time the way I do? I should kick me the backside.

Have an amazing day, DDT fam!

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 7 points 4 months ago

Frustrated at today. Today should be peaceful and stress free.

Total opposite and not getting through my work as fast as I’d like.

Any Murderbot fans out there? Apple TV is releasing a show based on the books. Very excited but fascinated to see if it works - the books are great largely because of murderbot's internal dialogue...
