Started posted to !mechanical_keyboards@programming.dev recently, let's see how it goes

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm loving the activity over there! Looks like we may have found a mod too.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Good success for !buyeuropean@feddit.uk. The mod of !buyfromeu@feddit.org shouldn't be back before the 14 days of activity, the consolidation of the communities can be discussed

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Good luck with the consolidation! My vote would be towards feddit.org :)

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Let's see! Why feddit.org, if I may ask? 😄

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Eh, it just seems amusing to have a European-focused community on an instance which is neither in the EU nor on "the continent" :)

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

US communities like !news@lemmy.world and !politics@lemmy.world are hosted on a European instance, nobody seems to care too much 😄

Also feddit.org already hosts !europe@feddit.org , having this community on another instance isn't too bad decentralization wise 😄

Good points. I'm sure either would be fine! My preference is not a strong one, and my opinion is irrelevant anyway :)

Not so great, to be honest. Probably gonna shut down !chip_stocks@discuss.tchncs.de soon. I guess there's not much interest in semiconductors and capitalism in general.

No worries though. I might start doing gaming content on Peertube or something.

First time I hear about it, have you promoted it on !communitypromo@lemmy.ca and !hardware@lemmy.world ?

[–] OpticalMoose@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 months ago

No, I might give that a try. Thanks.

Make sure you add it the federation bot!

https://lemmy-federate.com/

It will put your community on all of the other instances, giving you the best user base possible

[–] OpticalMoose@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 months ago

I'll check it out.

Same old same old. Have recently started posting meta posts that might turn into weekly posts. Curious to see their reception. Engagement seems to largely be luck and time based lol. Though I've seen a couple more people posting apart from myself which is nice

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

That's nice!

Kind of frustrating that I am asking nice discussion questions, provide a little direction on what answers could be or an answer myself, and do not get too much engagement, but I do see lots of upvotes on just… images. I am here for discussion, not a duplicate of Pixiv.

It made me happy to see several of the transplanted communities on !trendingcommunities@feddit.nl today. It's also awesome to see @tcbot@feddit.nl back in action again. Shoutout @andrew@pythag.net for maintaining it for all of us. Thank you!
