I want this to be true so bad.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 53 points 2 months ago (3 children)

It's not though, right? Hard to say.

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 69 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's definitely not true, although it is funny to think about.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 28 points 2 months ago (3 children)

It's almost better if it's not true. That will probably piss off Trump even more, because they are lying but so many people will believe them and troll him with it.

I think no one is saying it’s happing besides this meme, and definitely not “top Chinese officials”

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 months ago

We could do the JD Vance treatment. They don't care if what they that's important is true, why should we about something stupid like this?

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Someone here's gotta read Chinese, right?

[–] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

We need a spy on Weibo to come report back to us here

Apparently he just answers unknown numbers on his private phone during meetings in the oval office, and quite a few people have that number. Someone should send him the link to the meme.

It's obviously not true, if they were to do that to him then he would absolutely be ranting about it on truthsocial and calling for an all out war on China... At which point we'd see the signal chats because hegseth would have added at least 3 outside people to it.

[–] stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I'm not so sure. For clarity, I don't think it's true either, but, if it was, he probably wouldn't tell anyone about it, because, the fact that they could do that to him makes him look weak. If there's one thing a narcissist will chew off their own toes to avoid, it's looking weak in front of people. It's the same reason he uses bronzer and hair dye.

It's as true as anything Trump says.

[–] Artyom@lemm.ee 12 points 2 months ago

If Trump suddenly starts mentioning Obama in his tweets for the first time in months, then yeah, it's True. Otherwise, fake.

[–] Tja@programming.dev 33 points 2 months ago

People are saying it's true. People. Lots of people. The best people are saying it's true.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 231 points 2 months ago

I don't believe for a second that it's true, but the possibility that it is amuses me.

Big? Is this a new re-definition i need to learn?

[–] IEatDaGoat@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's just short for "this is a big deal" grandpa

[–] stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

Oh. Well what do you do with all the free time you save by not spelling out the word 'deal' every time?

[–] PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Ok. I concede. Never heard that one before.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Even if it's not true, this is what I have decided to believe.

[–] MycelialMass@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Modern discourse in a nutshell lol

So, as I understand it in the current culture of Social Media, the term 'BREAKING:' now universally means 'here's some shit I just pulled out of my arse.' Does that sound correct? Everything's always BREAKING!
