making 16 year old girls work at a truck stop , and the truckers are being lewd? god damn capitalism has no shame.

It's not just truck stops 16 year olds get hit on at work. Just any customer service job

Sometimes people can only find jobs where there is work to be done. This is true for all systems.

not systems where you're not forced to work lmao, why are you making excuses for a 16 year old being hit on?

Im not. Im explaining why someone might only have that job available.

If your conclusion was that Im defending pedophilia you need to seek help in remedial English as you have a significant skill issue on a very basic level

I used to come in to work every morning at a restaurant and eat a bagel with cream cheese out of the pantry, because I didn’t know any better / didn’t give a shit. One of the food prep ladies noticed and gave me grief about it and I said “but I’m hungry.”

I was just being a smartass about it, kind of like “but that is what I want to do and I DGAF about the profit margin,” but she backed off within milliseconds and didn’t say another goddamned word. It actually made me feel bad how seriously she took it. Like “Oh, gotcha, didn’t realize, take as much as you want and I’ll rig the inventory if you want so it doesn’t show.” I felt too bad about it to clarify to her and just stopped stealing food after that.

This is heartwarming and wholesome somehow

My boss noticed a young adult coworker was distractable/off and asked what was up. Coworker volunteered that she'd been unable to pick up her prescription medication (lack of car and a parent that controlled what pharmacy she could use).

Boss offered a ride to the pharmacy and the problem was solved for at least that month. I think coworker was able to migrate the prescription after that.

Anyways, you have to be supportive of n00bs. They're the future.

i literally almost lunged across the counter to throw hands with some old hag who yelled at and insulted one of our 16 y/o girls but instead i threw her sandwich at her and told her to never fucking come back

I would have liked to watch this interaction
