I had a bad dream that I accidentally put diesel in my car.

It was nightmare fuel

Rough night sleep as you might imagine. Iโ€™m really torn between cooking up a whole lasagna and casserole and dropping it over and recognising that Iโ€™m just trying to do something to deal with how I feel and thatโ€™s kinda fuckin rude. Theyโ€™ll have family and shit around all the time anyway.

My go to for these situations is to drop off toilet paper, tissues and some basics like tea, coffee and long life milk. Grief makes it hard to keep track of the basics and you also have lots of people visiting you, so those are the sorts of things you most want. Food can cause more problems, because you have to find somewhere in the fridge for it etc.

If it's just happened, I'd say leave them be. When it's settled maybe look at mowing the lawns, or taking the kids for a bit.

Try not to be so hard on yourself man.

Your heart is in right place. Give them a couple of days to get over the shock then you can extend your condolences and assist where you can.

One of my favourite pastimes, the "bush telly"

Almost looks like an old dryer or washer drum

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It is an old washing machine drum

Looks to be in pretty good nick. I love a fire pit action.

The party was a hit. Everyone went home feeling good about themselves. Most have shit parents. No young person deserves to be a disappointment to their parents for their sexual or gender orientation. They're just people. Bring in the hugs. I don't care. My home is always welcome.

Over in Maffra now, I don't think I've ever been in a house bigger than this. My aunt has definitely worked her butt off for this amazing house!

Now her partner just has to sell his place in the city and it'll be done! So proud of them!

๐Ÿ™‚

I love you have good family too ( cos I know you've had it rough ) AND they are lucky to have you. ๐Ÿ˜˜

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm so so grateful for my dad and his side of the family - they've always been the people who have encouraged me and loved me for me. Supportive of my interests. Much of the uncertainty I feel about them, is just my own trauma - I fit in so well with my family it's hard not to see we're all related. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Some fuckwits offleash jack Russell chased the strays away as they were eating.

Then the fucking moron couldn't get him back for a while. I saw the 2 orange parents come back but not the 2 kittens or the other two.

They did have a head start on him. Just worries me.

Managed to break the cold tap in the shower whilst in there. That's 3 different showers in 3 weeks lol. Managed to fix this one but the other 2 remain borked.

Split second panic thinking 'ooh if that starts throwing out a jet'. Scared the crap outta me.

Water things and I continue our little spat.

I have been unmotivated for packing, but I did get motivated to finish a sewing project I've been planning for ages. A work jacket which I removed the logo from has now had an embroidered tree sewn in its place to cover the damage from removing the stitching. Now I have another jacket I can wear over winter.

I'm cheating on my usual cafe with the new place across the road.

In my defence, the lady making coffee this morning gave me a half decaf half normal when I asked for a decaf and it fucked me up all day lol

I had this big clothes shopping day planned but fuck that. If I could lug the TV into the bedroom that'd be my spot for the day.

When boyo suggests a glass of wine at 3:30 "you know this will lead to me singing musical theatre, yeah?" "Mmhm!"

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago

The kids are inside doing the same thing. They have a microphone to make it extra theatrical.

Brisket Benedict. I had to take out about half of the brisket to eat seperately because there was so much ๐Ÿคค

I should be working on my thesis but man, 3 days straight of hard work on it has fried my brain a little. Instead I'm watching really fascinating videos about linguistics by Dr Geoff Lindsay so I can still feel smart...

3 days straight of hard work is a feat! Take a little break hehe

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago

I've had a nap now so I hopefully won't need one later. I thought I was at the getting better stage but I think I'm getting worse

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Time to get up. What a nuisance. But the rain will be here in an hour or so, so I'd better get cracking.

Sleeping in oodie and fluffy pyjamas, checking in

Three or four years ago, I got my sister a real Oodie, and myself one from Big W. Her oodie is holding up really well, and mine is less so, but is still good enough. I think I wear mine more anyway.

So, about this thing called sleep

[โ€“] Duenan@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Ugg boots are on, Iโ€™m cold.

Yeah, itโ€™s chilly. Iโ€™ve gotta get one of those oodies I keep hearing about

Why is my bed time policed by a ball of fluff that weighs less thank 5kg?

Also, regarding the building of a caravan park in Point Cook:

Cats rule the world and they control us.

Thatโ€™s the truth of the world.

[โ€“] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's a cat's world, and we're just living in it.

The annoyed look I get from Gibson when I accidentally wake her up when I'm getting ready for work is just amazing lol

I need something to stop me hitting the garage wall while still getting as close as possible. Wheel stops need to be bolted down so that won't work. I'm thinking something like a pool noodle bollard. Does such a thing exist? Or do I need to get two pool noodles and a couple of christmas tree stands or similar? ๐Ÿค”

Trying to coax Moobeans (not her actual name) to eat her breakfastโ€ฆ her appetite is very good, she just doesnโ€™t want to take the medicine in it.

Iโ€™d stop trying to mix it in but Iโ€™m trying to reduce the amount of forcing her to take it. Especially if Iโ€™m going to start trying to clean her teeth again. Trying to keep her stress low.

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Haircut and beard trim down. Feel much better. Now I need to find a moment where it's not raining to feed the strays.

Edit: I think a kids tent might be a solution to them staying dry and being able to keep their food dry as well.

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Cardboard boxes might be a better solution. They might be scared of the rustling of a plastic tent. My recollection of kids tents is that they are made of cheapest possible plastic and are not sturdy at all. Also very brightly coloured and could be considered rubbish by passers by. An unobtrusive box behind some bushes might be easier for them.

Ahh Eurovision. Reminding me I suck at geography for another year. I know this country though.

I've been low on motivation today, so I've been shopping online again. I managed to resist the temptation to buy wall decals to turn the laundry into a rainforest, but I did get some plant decals for Miss Meow's garden corner. And I got a decal of a window looking out over a garden, in the hopes that the tiny toilet with no window in it will feel less closed in that way. I also got a couple to go on the back of the van to help it stand out a bit in a sea of white vehicles.

A few more things arrived today too - the plate stands work really well, I ended up buying a couple more so I can use them for cutting boards, pot lids and anything else that I can find to stand up. I also have a couple more draw organiser things for the kitchen drawers so I can try and keep them somewhat under control. I'm still waiting for my new rubbish bin and a set of shelves to go over the toilet.

Have now scraped off the mysterious wordless sticker the door guys rudely applied to the house. Conspiracy theories abound.
