That one Dutch province that nobody has ever been to

[–] oxysis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You mean the people who are fighting the sea?

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

And cat-sized house spiders or some shit. That part of the globe scares me.

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 37 points 1 month ago (3 children)

That's a little bit frightening

If it's any comfort, they fought with expert timing

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well, when you consider that and the fact that there was funky China men, I do feel better

Thunderbolt and lightning

No wait that's not it

[–] SmackemWittadic@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah you've got your "frightening" scale mixed up,

"Thunderbolt and lightning" are on the "very very frightening" end

The people of New Zealand unsure what kind of pandemic is spreading across the world.

[–] HowAbt2morrow@futurology.today 27 points 1 month ago

This map exactly coincides with the area where people’s feet are fast as lightning. Uncanny!

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Totally misses the people at sea who were kung fu fighting.

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

And presumptuously colors uninhabited areas.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So, what you are saying is that everyone was Kung Fu fighting?

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 11 points 1 month ago

Those cats were fast as lightning

[–] loomy@lemy.lol 8 points 1 month ago

highly academic

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 month ago

Quite lucky that it happened on the one day in history where there were no people in any of the seas!

I question the author of this infographic with regard to the source material providing the data.

During 1974 Pavel Senko, D.D.Maksutov, V.S.Ignatov, V.I.Serdyukov, N.A.Kornilov of the Soviet Union were leading the Soviet Antarctic Expeditions. The original source material cites "everyone" so the exclusion of these 5 gentlemen and the entire continent of Antarctica raises questions about the validity of the graphic.

Bro, I can't even leave the house without these fucking ninjas at my door. I do another triple spin kick to the face this week and my knees will be done for.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I find this highly suspect. You're telling me there wasn't a single person Kung Fu fighting in the ocean? It somehow only affected people on land?

[–] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 4 points 1 month ago

They were only at sea for transit, and they were fast as lightning, so they were actually on land while fighting

[–] Therobohour@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Ah yes my father told me about the mid 70s kung-fu crisis, he said it was a little bit frightening
